Have Faith, Wait For The Lord, Be Strong in the Lord- Day 2 Fasting and Prayer

Lord we lift up ALL who are affected by Coronavirus (I guess that’s all of us in varying degrees)… from those afflicted by the illness- we ask healing in body mind and spirit.

For THOSE WHO ARE MOURNING the loss of someone, we ask for Your supernatural comfort strength and peace. For FRONTLINERS …for HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS: we ask for Your almighty protection, renewed strength, courage, endurance; for GOVERNMENT AND ALL LEVELS OF LEADERS in the world, business, organizations, homes: Your continual anointing for wisdom, discernment, direction, compassion, character, competence, and the cooperation of those they lead trusting that You are the One who establish all authorities and are moving thru the leaders in our lives. For PEACE AND ORDER PERSONNEL, Your wisdom, help as You use them to establish and maintain peace and security. For EVERYONE else, we ask for the provision of all our needs. May You shield us from any negative spirits and refresh our minds and hearts with Your peace that transcends all understanding and joy not based on circumstances but based on what You have already done for us and who we are in You. With Your free gift of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ, everything else is a bonus.

Please give us hearts to seek You, humble ourselves and pray, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways in Jesus’s name and for His glory amen.

.

““When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a PLAGUE among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will HUMBLE themselves and PRAY and SEEK Your face and TURN from our wickedness, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

.

Today’s Fasting Verse:

.

“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.”

Psalms 27:13-14 NASB

.

Knowing the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living where there will no longer be death, mourning, crying, or pain is an assuring thought. The causes for David’s or our potential despair in this land of the dying may be real but the higher reality is that God is greater than all causes for despair.

We have to believe by faith, wait, and be strong.

Faith is anchored on the eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, everpresent good God who in all things works for the good of those who love Him.

Waiting can be proactive by rejoicing always, praying continually, giving thanks amidst all circumstances (1 Thess 5:16-18)

Being and staying strong has its limits but “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint.” We have a living hope in the Lord Himself, our unli Source, Sufficiency, Strength, Endurance, Encourgement, Joy, Peace, Insurance, Light, Protector in whom we are complete.

• Psalms 27:13-14 •

That as we remain confident in the Lord despite the causes of our despair, we shall see His goodness through His promises.

But as we wait for His promise, we must present our requests & open our ears to hear His voice. We should not fear at all instead praise him with our music & songs.

Causes of despair (of David)—
• the wicked
• the enemies & foes
• an army
• day of trouble
• forsaking parents
• oppressors

Promises of God—
• enemies will fall
• safety
• shelter in His sacred tent
• set high upon a rock
• redemption
• exaltation above the enemy
• He will receive me

What to do to avail His promise—
• hear His voice
• be merciful (forgiving)
• ask the Lord
• seek Him
• don’t fear
• be confident
• sacrifice with shouts of joy
• sing & make music to the Lord

What we can ask—
• hear my voice
• Lord’s mercy
• answer
• don’t hide Your face
• don’t turn away because of anger
• don’t reject me
• don’t forsake me
• LORD, RECEIVE ME!
• teach me your way
• lead me in a straight path
• do not turn me to the desire of my foes

My take away for today’s bs:

In David’s desperate moment, he focus of the one thing – God’s sovereignty!

As we relate this in current situation now, amidst the threat of covid19 we are reminded that this is the time that we Seek God’s sovereignty! Not just in covid19 but with our oppressors (which in tne form of our husband, offspring, siblings, inlaws, parents, etc)! Let us all reminded that Jesus is the Lord! He rules! He is our personal savior and nothing is impossible in Him. It is a promise that we can freely claim.
The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid?
-Psalms 27 : 1

All we have to do is be intentional in seeking His presence and let God be the God of our life. As what David did. Let us be confident that God is our refuge! Our redeemer! Of course we knew the fact that covid is real, husband is being intentional in hurting us and so on but let’s focus on where we are right now and who redeemed us – Our God!

When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.
-Psalms 27 : 2
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.
-Psalms 27 : 3

Amidst the storm, I will rejoice and sing praise! Because my joy comes from the Lord! No one can ever steal that joy.
For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.
-Psalms 27 : 5

During my quite time, God constantly revealed to me to wait as I WAIT it produces perseverance that gives birth to HOPE and REJOICE in the Lord!

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
-Psalms 27 : 14

Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
-Psalms 32 : 11

We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
-Psalms 33 : 20
In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
-Psalms 33 : 21
May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
-Psalms 33 : 22

Psalms 27:1-14

Seeking God’s Presence and Waiting for Him Patiently

In one time or another we have been prisoner of despair – rejection, abandonment, uncertainty, misunderstanding, sickness or even death. But God brings light and salvation. He offers help for today and hope for the future.

  1. Confidence in God
David’s trust in God was unwavering even in times of trouble.

In my life, I stumbled and fell. I put my trust to my hubby that he will always be there but God showed me my iniquities and the rest is history. God redeemed me and proven Himself, whom shall I fear?

  1. Desire for God’s presence
David’s greatest desire was to live in God’s presence everyday.

Do I look forward to being in the presence of God? When I experience difficulties, do I seek Him first? When troubles come am I prepared to handle it? I could have avoided all those trials and tests if I seek God’s help beforehand. I could have handled it easily if I ask His direction in every decision I make.
Am I hurting? God can take that place, and fill that void. His love is sufficient.

  1. Wait Patiently
David knew from experience what it meant to wait for the Lord. Waiting is not easy. Sometimes it seems that God is not answering our prayers. So we do our own thing. But God is worth waiting for. He uses times of waiting to refresh, renew and teach us. In times like this, TOTAL LOCKDOWN – me and hubby are making use of waiting time to discover what God is trying to teach us.

Lamentations 3:24-26
I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance: therefore I will hope in Him!”
The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him.
So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.

This calls us to hope in and wait for Him. He had promised restoration and blessing. Seek God first and wait for Him patiently.

Thank you Sissies and Sis. Karen. Hope to see all of you tomorrow.

V10: though my father n mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.

In one of my darkest hours, i told Him, i cannot afford. To lose Him, kasi sa kanya, ala akong pdeng itago, sha d nya ko huhusgahan, d nya k0 iiwan
