Q: What if a person is experiencing trauma and has been having nightmares re: infidelity of husband which is a possible case of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Would you recommend to consult a doctor, seek for help and have this treated?

——
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is possible for a wife who has experienced traumas like abandonment, betrayal, or abuse. You might develop panic, anxiety, unusually high stress levels, physiological reactions like rashes headaches, loss of memory or deluge of traumatic memories, or Fight Flight Freeze reactions to simple situations triggered by sounds, sights, or random causes.
Biblical counselling would be a free, long-term, down-to-the-root approach to ultimate healing.
For severe cases, Christian psychiatrists could be helpful specially if physiological/ chemical imbalance are contributing factors .
When case is no longer severe, consistent biblical counselling would be very helpful to sustain wellness.
CCF’s Deliverance Ministry conducts deliverance sessions with thorough checklist of possible entry points of enemy, the most recent or gravest trauma just being the “last straw” to bring on the PTSD symptoms. You can contact Yoli Uy at 09171560772 to schedule a session. You will need a Dgroup leader/ mentor as accountabilty partner for the session itself.

Non-biblical counsellors take different approaches, and some are opposite biblical way. One example is they might encourage anger as a means of survival yet anger, when fed, is like a monster that has a life of its own that can take over, bringing with it vengeance, bitterness, hatred, violence, etc. In spiritual realm, those resulting sins are footholds that become strongholds, a means for the devil’s control and bondage.
Praying the Lord’s deep healing on you and anyone else in PWF and family members who may be experiencing PTSD. May He guide you in the best way for your particular case. No one is beyond God’s capability to heal. No wound is too deep He can not heal. May He give the right amount of forgetfulness of the trauma and turn the pain into purpose. May He hasten in fulfilling His promise to bind up your wounds and turn your ashes into beauty, rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated in your life. He is Healer, Restorer, Redeemer, Transformer, Advocate, Protector, Shield, Fortress in Jesus’s name amen
“This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”
Isaiah 48:17 NIV
The Ministry of Jesus Christ for us (excerpts of which He Himself read in the synagogue)
“He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.””
Luke 4:21 NIV
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.
Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them.
I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.”
Isaiah 61:1-4, 7-8, 10-11 NIV
