“Triumph Chronicle of the Unloved Wife” PART 1 – Takeaways

IA: Proverbs 16:7
When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.* God is working even if we don’t see it
* God knows how to speak to our husbands …. trust GodGod sees everything …. what we do and what is done to us, so do not be afraid if we think nothing is working because God is working even if we don’t see it.But for God to work in our lives we also have to do our part. God cannot work on an unforgiving and vengeful heart. We have to surrender everything to God and let him work on our husband’s life. He alone can change their hearts. On our part, forgive everyone for everything, love the unlovable, serve, respect … because we are not just doing it for our husbands but we are doing it for God.
HA: You reap what you sow…. Jacob’s deception caught up with him in his quest for Rachel’s hand thru his Uncle Laban.  My heart goes out to Leah, the feeling that Jacob has no choice but to accept her as his wife and desires another broke my heart… Leah felt unloved and rejected by her husband… I felt the same way when my husband betrayed me and was always defending his OW but God is merciful and loving that He takes care of me and provides for me and my children during the time he was still prodigal. Same goes with Leah, God never left her side, she was blessed with many children something that Rachel lacked for a long time.
AE: The Lord knows and cares about all that we struggle with. He will deal with them and help us work through each one in His time. He is a just God. He vindicates the oppressed. He corrects wrong attitudes and motivations. He rewards obedience. He answers the earnest prayers of broken hearts that are offered up and placed in His hands.

It is important for us to see ourselves the way God sees us. He loves us in spite of our weakness. For it is in weakness that His power is made perfect. It is in weakness that He is most glorified.

When we are broken and in pain, when we feel the heaviness of all that Leah went through – unfair comparison, rejection, inferiority, jealousy – we should remember that God uses our sufferings as the very instruments to mature us and mold us into the person He has always intended us to be. He uses the pain to bring us to the realization that only He can satisfy and make us whole.

II: Thankful for our daily Bible Study. It reminds us of who we are, what we need to know; it guides us to walk in obedience to God’s word. It encourages, protects and gives us godly counsel, specially in these times that we are hurting and vulnerable to the lies of Satan. We sometimes forget what we have already learned of the work of God when we encounter various trials and when we feel rejected and unloved. This study on God’s hand on Leah and Jacob. Once again I am encouraged to continue trusting in God’s timing and plan for my marriage.
DE: Even though I am not picked by man, I am chosen by God and that is what is important (Romans 8:31). If God is for us, nothing is against us. (Prov 21:1) It’s in God’s hands to channel the stream of water towards those who pleases Him. Whatever season or situation we are in, still God knows what He will do, He is in control.

Acts 1:7-8. It’s not for us to know the times and dates on the restoration or breakthrough for God set His authority. Receive the power of the Holy Spirit and be a witness, prepare and protect our testimony. So blessed to have this group. Alive and active. Thank God. Praise Him all the more!

EC: We are chosen not forsaken. When life gives us lemons, give them lemonade. With godly perspective, we can never go wrong. God favors the sacrifices of a broken and contrite spirit. And so we know that God is with us. And if God is with us, who can be against us?

Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

Psalms 56:8 You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?
Psalms 56:9 Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call; This I know, that God is for me.

Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

LN: If my joy is dependent on my husband, I will never be content and will never be satisfied.  I would not be capable of appreciating the blessings from God if I focus on my husband.

When I feel unloved by my spouse, I should be reminded that God’s love for me is unconditional and perfect. God will bless my obedience and will honor my sacrifice done in His name.

EA: No one is excused from God’s wrath. Walang lusot, I may feel that there is injustice before but God’s promise is final, the vengeance is his, not mine. My old self will be happy about this, but because I am already dead [Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, I no longer live but Christ lives in me. The life I now live I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.]  I’m praying hard for my husband’s salvation. I’m really sorry for the consequences of his sin, but I trust God whatever brokenness/ sufferings he will give my husband I know it is for his own good because God loves him.
IL: When Rachel didn’t have any children with Jacob, she became jealous of her sister. She pleaded with Jacob, “Give me children, or I’ll die!” (Genesis 30:1)

This is a controlling spirit of Rachel to her husband Jacob. I see my old self in the life of Rachel, before when we have an argument or a fight, I used to cry and not listen to my husband; mas inuuna ko yung maling emotion ko being self-centered to manipulate… which is I think one reason why we have many unresolved issues that were not addressed properly and every time we have misunderstandings or fights, the old issues always creeps back in – walang katapusang bangayan. Kaya noong umalis siya nakahinga ako nang maluwag, walang away— kasi walang kausap about old issue. Hindi rin siya naka move on doon panay din ang text niya sa akin ng masasama pero di ko siya ni re-reply. And eventually tumigil din.

Kaya itong Roman 8:28 napaka meaningful sa akin, good things happen. Nag pahinga ang nag durugong puso ko sa bangayan, selosan at walang humpay na sama ng loob. God renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.

Psalms 23:3  kasi nakapag pahinga sa abusive emotions.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)

HO: We are chosen and loved by God. We don’t need man’s approval.

Man’s approval is a trap, seek God’s approval only. Sometimes God doesn’t give man’s approval so that we will only seek God’s approval.

VR: Our identity is now in Christ. We are loved, wanted, cared for, redeemed- a beautiful Bride of Christ. Therefore, whatever hurtful, negative , demeaning words or actions thrown at us by the ‘preyer=satan’, we must respond in Christlikeness. we must remember we are dead in our old self and the life we live now in the flesh, we live for Jesus, who died for us . ..

OA: Where God put us His grace will sustain us.

Keep trusting and and holding on His promises. How I knew God is my security in Him and How Big He can work on my circumstances in my life.

Thankful for this bible study and sisterhood. To God all praises alone🙏👆
