Jesus spent a lot of time in prayer alone often, even with fervent cries and tears (Heb 5:7).

If Jesus who was in very nature God prayed a lot to connect with the Father, all the more I need to do the same.

Prayer as we typically know it is the asking part (Phil 4:6-7) but the most powerful part of prayer is listening to Him by seeking His counsel (2 Tim 3:16).
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Tim 3:16-17 NIV

Lord please fill me with Your Spirit as I read Your word; help me understand Your will and give me the strength to obey it.
