My Words Provoked My Husband to Insult Me

I was texted by husband as “puro pait ang katawan mo…walang kasarap sarap..” (which I provoked; and should not put to heart but has caused me tears the whole day yesterday and a little today).

Dear Sis, sorry to hear those words. That’s what we want to avoid for all wives, na makarinig ng mga distressing words.

If there are times the words are unwarranted, merely treat those words as “words for wind” as what John Piper says.

On our share, let’s stop being stiff-necked din waiting talaga for God to scourge us.

If we can be managed by God thru rebuke from his word, let’s obey na kasi God wants only to bless us. His commands are not to harm us.

It’s only the first serious decision to obey that’s difficult.

God loves us so much. If we really have hard time obeying thru rebuke He will customise what’s needed to wake us up.

I can’t count how many times na I’ve shared about guarding tongue and heart, and no nega words.

God who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it. Let us try again. Claiming your victory over this.

“Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.” James‬ ‭3:5b – 6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.” James‬ ‭1:26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” Matthew‬ ‭12:34‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalms‬ ‭51:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and nagging wife.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21:19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭25:24‬ ‭NIV‬‬
