Lord,
You are Father and we are Your children. You alone created the universe and knit us together in our mother’s womb. You know what is best for us.
You gave us Your Word so that we may live according to Your good and perfect will, worthy of Your calling.
Renew our minds so that we may be transformed. Then, we will be able to test and approve what Your will is- Your good, pleasing and perfect will.
Today, Lord, speak to us through Your servant Lysa Tiongson San Agustin about submission to our husbands. Help us to obey Your word in 1 Peter 3:1-2 where You say: “In the same way, you wives be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won over without a word by the behaviour of their wives as they observe your chaste and respectful behaviour.”
We should consider 1 Corinthians 7:14 and 16 where You say: “For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife… For how do you know oh wife, whether you will save your husband?”
Your discipline when we disobey is for our good.
Forgive us Lord for the times when we have failed to obey Your commands.
Above all else, help us to understand every word and command so that we can behave in obedience.
Prompt us to respond with urgency and not when it is convenient. May we not trust our feelings for this has consequences but may we trust in You alone.
I seek to adjust my attitude to Your Word and bring my thoughts, actions and words into alignment with it.
I know the intention of the enemy is to harm me, but You promise You will use the circumstances I am in right now for good and I trust You.
Help me to believe You are doing a new thing in me and help me to step forward into the future that You are fashioning for me.
You will be faithful to complete the good work that You started in me. I don’t know how—- it’s hard to picture what that will look like—- but I eagerly watch to see it happen.
Thank you Jesus for always caring and holding me close to Your heart. I love You, Lord. In Your name I pray, Amen!
