Dear Jesus I confess my pride, the need to be heard, be right, to be respected, honoured, favoured, vindicated, avenged. I confess exalting myself above You each time I go ahead of You.
I presume my thoughts come from You without consulting Your Word. I confess boasting in my ability thinking that my strengths were mine instead of a stewardship from You.
I call You “Lord,” yet often times I want to be the one telling You what to do, I want to be in control.
Thank You for Your Word that gives me Your example that even if You are by very nature God, You did not consider equality with Father God something to be used to Your own advantage; rather, You made Yourself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, You humbled Yourself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”
Philippians 2:6-8 NIV
“When they hurled their insults at You, You did not retaliate; when You suffered, You made no threats. Instead, You entrusted Yourself to Him who judges justly. “You Yourself bore our sins” in Your body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by Your wounds we have been healed.”” 1 Pet 2:23-24 NIV
Please cleanse me of my pride, circumcise my unnecessary flesh— tuliin ang laman na lumalaganap Lang na parang virus.
Please cleanse me of this spiritual illness. I admit it is sin and it is wickedness to You.
Thank You that when I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Thank You for dying on the cross for these very sins. Thank You for forgiving, redeeming me and making me new to be less like me and more like You as I continue to read Your word to see Your character and apply it to my life.
By Your grace and Holy Spirit, You will enable me to be crucified with Christ so that I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”Gal 2:20 NIV
You, Jesus, in me are my Only hope of glory.
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”Colossians 1:27 NIV
Help me to have a servant attitude even following Your example to wash the feet and serve even the one who would betray You. You, Lord are my Master and I am never above you.
May You enable me to walk in Your truth as Your Ambassador, Your Letter, salt and light to the people You have assigned to me in this temporary life in Your name and for Your glory amen.
