Has there been a time in your life when you felt so overwhelmed by the hurdles of life—marriage crisis, sabayan pa ng mga bills… masakit na nga sa puso, masakit pa sa bulsa! 😅
Lord, please! It seems like I just couldn’t keep up anymore.
But then, our faithful Lord would come to our rescue—be it through an encouragement from a fellow Christian,
help from a stranger, or even a random post on our social media feed reminding us of His beautiful promises for His children.
Ang ganda lang ng sinabi ni Jehoshaphat. Despite not knowing what he would do against the vast army that was coming
to attack them, he remained confident and humble enough to declare, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
What a powerful declaration of faith!
Prayerfully, may we also be like Jehoshaphat. Despite the troubles we are facing—whether it is a marriage crisis,
financial struggles, or other hurdles in life—may we always learn to fix our EYES on HIM.
The One who still holds us.
The One who is still in control.
The One who is still working, even when we cannot see what He is doing.
Let us choose to fix our E.Y.E.S. on HIM.
E — Examine Your Heart
Have a heart check. Why are we anxious? What is God revealing about our hearts in the midst of this situation?
Philippians 4:6 NIV
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests
to God.”
Instead of allowing anxiety to take over, bring everything to God in prayer. Let your worries become your prayers.
Y — Yield to God
Let God lead instead of allowing our feelings to control our responses. Surrender your worries to God. Let HIM lead—
not your fear.
Proverbs 3:5 AMP
“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.”
Sometimes, yielding means saying, “Lord, I may not understand what You are doing, but I choose to trust You.”
E — Envision Through Faith
Choose to see your circumstances through the lens of God—not merely through what your eyes can see.
2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP
“For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises].”
What we see may tell us that there is no way forward, but faith reminds us that God is still at work.
S — See as God Sees
Ask God to give you His perspective.
2 Kings 6:17 NLT
“Then Elisha prayed, ‘O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!’ The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up,
he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.”
Sometimes, nothing around us has changed yet—but God changes how we see things.
What looks like defeat may actually be an opportunity to witness God’s faithfulness.
E — Examine your heart
Y — Yield to God
E — Envision through faith
S — See as God sees
And when you find yourself in a Jehoshaphat moment—when you don’t know what to do, when the situation feels too big,
and when you feel like you can no longer keep up—
fix your EYES on HIM.
