_What happens when we seek God first_
There was a season in my life when I felt God was asking me to fast and pray.
I heeded His voice and found myself getting rid of all distractions so I could hear Him more clearly including social media.
I spent time with Him through worship songs, prayer, Bible reading, and journaling.
I was focused on praying for the country, my family, and personal matters but not my marriage,
because I did not see any concerns to pray for.
I was simply showing my love and devotion to our Heavenly Father and making Him my priority.
It was during this season that God showed me even more of His love through my husband. While our marriage,
like any marriage, has its imperfections, I was already happy and content in it,
but God wanted us to experience even more of His goodness.
My husband and I were full of joy and laughter. I’d call him my beloved, and he’d write me poems every day during that time.
What I learned is that when we get rid of distractions and idols and make God our top priority,
He takes care of the areas of our lives that we may not even realize need His attention.
*“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
” Matthew 6:33*
Sometimes, we don’t need to ask God to fix something because we don’t see anything wrong.
We simply need to seek Him first and let Him take care of the areas of our lives that we may not even realize need His attention.
