God chose you to be the help- meet (helper) of your husband. “The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”” Gen 2:18 NIV
You are the servant of Christ but a help-meet (helper) to your husband.
““The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers, you did for me.’” Matthew 25:40
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve.”” Mark 10:45a NIV
Are the commands of God for a wife to submit, give respect, do good to her husband all the days of her life conditional?
“Wives, in the same way [as “Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit themselves to masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.” 1Pet 2:18 NIV]
submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives,”
1 Peter 3:1 NIV
The King is Kings and Lord of Lords gave us an example to follow in expressing the full extent of love. He initiated to get up from the evening meal (gave up comfort and convenience), put a towel around His waist (serious about intention to serve) and washed the feet of His disciples (humbled Himself to do what the lowliest would do and accept the disciples smell, ugliness, and all)—— including the feet of the one who would betray Him that would lead to His greatest suffering.
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.” John 13:14-16 NIV
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!” Phil 2:5-8 NIV
“We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” 1 John 4:19-20 NIV
“A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies…She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.”
Proverbs 31:10, 12 NIV
