My Husband Intends to Marry Another Woman

Q: My husband has filed church annulment. I was told that church annulment in the diocese of his choice has history of 100% approval for annulment. In this case, if the church nullified our marriage does it mean I should still wait for my husband’s restoration despite his intention to marry another woman?

Praying these passages from God’s word which express His will will encourage you:

“What God has put together, let no man separate.” Mark 10:9

“God hates divorce.” Malachi 2:16

God will judge the sexually immoral.

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” Heb‬ ‭13:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God gives favor to the humble but opposes the proud.

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.””
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:5‬b ff NIV‬‬

God’s plans cannot be thwarted by your husband’s feelings, plans, or scientific probabilities, or laws. Jesus is above all of those. Pls read and meditate on Eph 1:21-22.

and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church.” Eph‬ ‭1:19-22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In God’s eyes, you are the legal wife.

Your marriage is not a contract between two persons that can be dissolved when one or both change minds. It is a 3-part covenant with God. In this season when your husband is not holding up his part of the covenant, Jesus continues to honor His marriage covenant with you with The Lord Himself as your very own Husband who protects upholds honors sustains redeems desires you and lavishes you with His love. (Isa 54:5)

Some Things You Can Do Meanwhile:

*Don’t leave your post.

*Don’t participate in your husband’s sin to put asunder the marriage He put together.

*Remain faithful to the Marriage Covenant as Jesus continues to stand with you in your marriage. Be the wife that God wants you to be.

*Check if you find anything that you had (inadvertently or otherwise) disobeyed God about and ask His help to correct it. Confess any wrongs (1John 1:8-10). After you do so, the promise in v. 10 says you are cleansed and purified. No one can continue to accuse you of those.

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

*Ask God’s help to be able to completely forgive from the heart your husband and the other person.

May this help you understand why it is critical to forgive from the heart:

“Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” Heb 13:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” Job‬ ‭42:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
