Q: Are All Remarriages Considered Adultery?

Scroll down to content

Hi sis. The bible says on “Change of [Marital] Status”:

“Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭7:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The point where a person comes to believe in Jesus Christ is a demarcation line. This is referred to as the point where
“God has called a person.”

Believers are to stay in that situation they are/ were in (married or unmarried) at that point in time that they came to be believers.

Persons in a remarriage who, given time, reach the Reality Stage of love who reach the subsequent Resentment, Rage, Retaliation, Resignation/ Ruins (without Christ) instead of Restoration (with Christ) sometimes ask God if the pain and suffering from a remarriage gone wrong has its roots from not being in God’s perfect will but His permissive will.

Here are some insights from bible scholar, Ptr Nomer Bernardino on the subject:
