Dearest Wife, Are you struggling to submit to, forgive, bless, love, help, serve, honor, respect, edify, protect your husband, not grumble nor complain, have a gentle quiet spirit, or obey other biblical commands?
Here is an important message that we all need to consider. Let’s pray for one another’s obedience and victory in the Lord.
No one is perfect. We will all stumble. But the more we abide with Jesus, the more we are going to be like Him. We will not be sinless but we will sin less. For the occasional stumble: confess, repent, (1John 1:8-10) press on towards Jesus (Phil 3:13-14) We are defined as all falling short of Gods glory standard. Romans 3:23.
The Triune God helps the believer to follow God’s will.
1. God the a Father :
“for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
Philippians 2:13 NIV
2. God the Son
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Colossians 1:27b NIV
3. God the Spirit
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV

But when we make a habit to ignore the call to obedience, presuming that since God loves us, we can make a lifestyle of excusing our “not being ready” or other reasons to not obey, here are 7 reasons for reconsideration:
1. God will not answer and won’t be found.
“Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings. But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you— when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. “Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me, since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord. Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.””
Proverbs 1:23-33 NIV
2. No sacrifice left for sins
“If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.”
Hebrews 10:26-27 NIV
3. Lifestyle of obedience confirms God as father; lifestyle of disobedience confirms devil as father.
“Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies… Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.””
John 8:43-44, 47 NIV
4. Need to flee
“This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. You said, ‘No, we will flee on horses.’ Therefore you will flee! You said, ‘We will ride off on swift horses.’ Therefore your pursuers will be swift!”
Isaiah 30:15-16 NIV
5. Barred entry into heaven
““Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” Matthew 7:21-23 NIV
6. Word outflow can acquit or condemn us.
““Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.””
Matthew 12:33-37 NIV
7. More Severe Punishment for Disobedient Believer
““The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”
Luke 12:47-48 NIV
