I Still Struggle with Forgiveness

Q: I still struggle to fully forgive — my husband and his mother deceased). It’s one-step-forward, two-steps-backward. I am very worried that I have displeased God with my unforgiveness. I have improved somehow , but not consistently.

Dear Sis, Holy Spirit is on standby to make possible what is impossible for man(forgiving from the heart).

I would highly recommend you review what the bible says about forgiveness… or at least a preview from our notes on forgiveness as there are two sins set apart that the Lord punishes severely(not by rebuke or chastising but with scourging/ torment).

1. Sexual immorality

“Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” Hebrews 13:4 NIV

2. Unforgiveness “In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”” Matthew 18:34-35 NIV

The One Spouse’s Adultery +The Other Spouse’s Unforgiveness is the perfect scheme of Satan to pit up husband and wife to destroy each other as in a cockfight.

Praying we will not fall into enemy’s trap to make us forfeit all the blessings we have from God. We know naman Sis that partial or delayed obedience is disobedience.

It’s Gods will that we forgive so when we pray according to 1john 5:14-15, He is sure to grant that we can forgive.

It requires applying Galatians 2:20 dying to self— no longer I who live but Christ lives in me.

The one who benefits most when we forgive is … the forgiver.

The one who suffers the most when we do not forgive is… the unforgiver.

Praying for the Lord’s supernatural empowerment for you—- same power He used when He raised Jesus from the dead.

“and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,”

Ephesians 1:19-20 NIV

When we think our enemy is a person, Satan has done his job successfully. Our only real enemy is Satan himself but God has given us authority to overcome all the power of the enemy.

“I have given you authority to… overcome all the power of the enemy.” Luke 10:19 b NIV

Praying you get to attend more or interact more so that Satan can not isolate you.

God loves you way way way super much and Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly. Praying you won’t be shortchanged by not partaking of His free blessings!!

Love you and praying for you dear Sis!
