I used to think Jeremiah 29:11 was about the Lord prospering me with my wishes (car, house, land…worldly prosperity) but I learned that its context is Giving Christ to us.

I also thought that this verse was all about me:

Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

…but it’s about the Lord changing my heart to be aligned to His instead of my own selfish desires like the desire for my husband, etc.

The more I’m falling in love with scriptures when I find out it’s not really about me.

It’s hard and painful to accept the uncertainty on whether my husband will still love me but God’s goal may be my own holiness.

I’m a work-in-progress, slipping from time to time but I will always return to God because I am His child.
